What is Wrong with the teachings of Calvinism?

Why Respond to Calvinism?
Calvinism is a doctrine that came from the reformation, mainly through John Calvin. What is wrong with the teachings of Calvinism? Why respond to Calvinism? The purpose of responding to this doctrinal position (that many Christians have taken) is to show that this is not a true doctrine taught in the Bible. For those who think this is done to cause division within the body of Christ, I believe that is not the case at all. There are many wonderful brothers and sisters in the Lord Jesus Christ who believe in the views of Calvinism (and I do have friends who are Calvinists). However there are those who hold extreme views of Calvinism who say that you are not a true Christian if you do not believe in Calvinism or that a person is marked because they do not hold to the views of Predestination in the same way they do. In the past there have been friends of mine who were brothers in the Lord and held to the views of Calvinism, and our fellowship was sweet as honey. However when the topic of Predestination came up things changed which, in short, there are those who go to the extent that they cannot fellowship with you if you do not agree with their views on the 5 points of Calvinism known as the “TULIP.” (more…)

“GOD HATES DIVORCE!”

1. A troubling trend was revealed by a recent survey from The Barna
Group…
a. Born again Christians are just as likely to divorce as are
non-Christians.
b. Among married born again Christians, 35% have experienced a
divorce. That figure is identical to the outcome among married
adults who are not born again: 35%.
c. Barna’s figures show that nearly one-quarter of the married born
agains (23%) get divorced two or more times.

 Answer: It is a fairly well-established fact that Jesus Christ was publicly executed in Judea in the 1st Century A.D., under Pontius Pilate, by means of crucifixion, at the behest of the Jewish Sanhedrin. The non-Christian historical accounts of Flavius Josephus, Cornelius Tacitus, Lucian of Samosata, Maimonides and even the Jewish Sanhedrin corroborate the early Christian eyewitness accounts of these important historical aspects of the death of Jesus Christ. What Do Mormons Believe About God? Was God Once A Man?

 

What Do Mormons Believe About God? Was God Once A Man? is going to be the addressed, and according to Joseph Smith the true test of knowing if he was a true servant of the Lord was by his teachings concerning the nature of God. Joseph Smith said: “I will prove that the world is wrong, by showing what God is. I am going to inquire after God; for I want you all to know Him, and to be familiar with Him; and if I am bringing you to a knowledge of Him, all persecutions against me ought to cease. You will then know that I am His servant; for I speak as one having authority.” (History of the Church, Volume 6, page 305/ Teachings of Prophet Joseph Smith, page 345) The proof concerning Joseph Smith being a true servant of the Lord or not is by examining what he taught concerning the nature of God. If what Joseph Smith taught is inaccurate, then he is by exclusion a false servant in disguise appearing to be of God!

Question: “Why are there so many televangelist scandals?”

Answer: The term “televangelist” has almost universally negative overtones. Typical responses from people who are asked what they think about televangelists include the following: dishonest, greedy, materialistic, wasteful, and scandalous. The sight of televangelists wearing overly expensive clothing and jewelry, living in ridiculously expensive homes, and driving the most luxurious of cars, has caused many people to turn away from faith in Christ. Even non-Christians can discern that the teachings and lifestyles of most televangelists are antithetical to the teachings of Jesus Christ. (more…)
