-Got Fear? Get Power!
What do you fear? Getting sick? Losing your job? Failing in school? Being robbed? Dying? Life is full of bad things that make us afraid. The Bible says they are in the world as a result of man’s sin and rebellion (Gen. 3:10-19; Rom. 5:12). Have you heard that God doesn’t want you to be afraid? His Word, the Bible, says, “Do not be afraid” (Jn. 14:27 niv).
Have you heard that He doesn’t want us to live in fear? The Bible says, “God is love … There is no fear in love … perfect love drives out fear” (1 Jn. 4:18).
Have you heard that God can even bring good out of the bad things in life? “In all things God works for the good of those who love Him” (Rom. 8:28).
How does God do all this? Through His Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior. Why? Because He loves us: “God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” (Jn. 3:16).
With Jesus as your Savior, you can stop living in fear and being afraid. Without Him, you have every reason to be afraid – of everything, including death, and what comes after.
The Bible says “man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment.” But it also says “God demonstrates His own love toward us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Heb. 9:27; Rom. 5:8).
