The Time’s Right And The Ticket’s Free!

A young man ran into the train station one morning, rushed up to the ticket window and asked, “What time does the 8:15 leave?”

“At 8:15,” answered the ticket agent.

“The cab driver’s clock says it’s 8:10. The town clock says it’s 8:12. My Timex says it’s 8:14. But your station clock says it’s already 8:17. Which clock do I go by?”

“Mister, you can go by any clock you like, but the trains go by the station clock – and the 8:15 left two minutes ago.”

Everyone wants to go to heaven. If you could get there by train, which clock would you trust to get you to the train on time? Some cab driver’s Mickey Mouse watch? The town clock? Your Timex? Or God’s clock?

Where heaven’s concerned, the only choice would be God’s clock. And what time does it say? You can read it in the Bible:“Now is the accepted time … now is the day of salvation” (2 Cor. 6:2).

But just knowing the right time won’t get you to heaven. You also need a ticket – and they’re so expensive they cost Jesus His life. The Bible says, “God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Rom. 5:8). But God offers you one free! The Bible says, “The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Rom. 6:23).

So what are you waiting for? You do want to go to heaven, don’t you? Everybody does! The right time’s now. And the ticket’s free. Accept your ticket to heaven before it’s too late!
