-Do You Know The Way?

Do You Know The Way? Jesus said: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6

I hate to bring this up, but one of these days you’re going to die – maybe sooner than you realize. When you do, I’m sure you’ll want to go to heaven. Everybody does. But the big question is, “Do you know the way?” Many well-meaning people think they’ll get to heaven by doing good deeds, by living good lives, by going to church and by following all the rules of their religion. They hope to earn heaven, but that’s not God’s way. As good as these things are in their place, they’re not the way to heaven. According to God’s Word, the Bible, the only sure way to heaven is Jesus. He said: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (Jn. 14:6 NIV). One sin shut Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden forever. And no matter how good you are, one sin will shut you out of heaven forever too, unless you trust Jesus Christ as your Savior. Have you put your trust in Him? If not, do it now before it’s too late. Satan will say, “Wait awhile.” But God says, “Now is the day of salvation” (2 Cor. 6:2). Listen to God. In the Bible He tells us everyone will spend eternity in one of two places – either in hell or in heaven.

Hell Or Heaven?
Here’s what God’s Word says about hell: “If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire … the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death” (Rev. 20:15; 21:8). And Jesus, the Son of God says, “They will go away to eternal punishment … into hell, where the fire never goes out” (Mt. 25:46; Mk. 9:43).

This is what Jesus says about heaven – where He is, and where all those who have received Him as their Savior will be: “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in Me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And … I will come back and take you to be with Me” (Jn. 14:1-3).

When Jesus was on earth He said, “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Mt. 11:28). He also said, “Whoever comes to Me, I will never drive away” (Jn. 6:37). What promises!

Jesus proved He could save us from our sins when He died on the cross, rose from the dead and ascended into heaven (1 Cor. 15:3-7,20-23). The Apostle Paul recognized this when he joyfully wrote: “Death has been swallowed up in victory … Thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Cor. 15:54,57).

Your Choice?
Jesus, the risen Savior, is as eager today to have sinners come to Him as He was when He was on earth. If you come to Jesus as a sinner, and trust Him as your Savior, you have God’s Word that your sins will be forgiven: “All the prophets testify about Him that everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins through His name” (Acts 10:43). Do this now and you will be on your way to heaven.

The way to heaven is clear. It’s Jesus Christ. The Bible assures us of this: “God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” (Jn. 3:16). Would you like to be on your way to heaven right now, by trusting Jesus Christ as your Savior from sin? We can tell you how!
