There are only two “issues” mentioned in the Bible, both in the Old Testament. One belongs to God: “He who is our God is the God of salvation; and unto God, the Lord belong the issues from death” (Ps. 68:20 KJV). The other comes from your own heart: “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life” (Prov. 4:23). In the Bible, the word “issue” means an exit, escape, deliverance, wellspring or source. The New International Version translates Psalm 68:20 this way: “Our God is the God who saves; from the Sovereign Lord comes escape from death.” God has provided a deliverance from death through the Lord Jesus Christ. He was the only one who could make available “such a great salvation” (Heb. 2:3).
Your heart, on the other hand, must cross the boundary into life everlasting. The New International Version translates Proverbs 4:23 this way: “Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.” Will you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ with all your heart, and be saved? He has provided the way of escape, but you must take that way through faith.
If you would like to know more about the great salvation that comes through faith in Jesus Christ, we can explain it to you.
