The New Is Better
No one after drinking old wine wants the new, for he says, “The old is better.” Luke 5:39 NIV |
John 2:1-10 When the Lord was at the wedding where the wine was running out, He made water into wine to show what grace was all about; And the master of the wedding did not know where it was from, But confided to the bridegroom that a better wine had come.Mark 2:18-22 But new wine requires new bottles, lest it burst the old in two. For traditions are too brittle to accommodate the new. Those addicted to the vintage of the righteous Law’s embrace Could not bear the sheer refreshment from the winepress of God’s grace.Luke 10:25-37 The officials of the Law could never make the sinner well The Samaritan was needed to deliver him from hell For the Law cannot forgive us when we’ve broken God’s command Grace pours in the wine and oil that the wounds of sin demand. Matthew 21:33-46 Acts 2:1-21 Ephesians 5:15-20 By Bud Morris

What The Servants Knew
Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim. Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.” They did so, and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.”
