Overwhelmed With Worship

“When the queen of Sheba saw all the wisdom of Solomon and the palace he had built, the food on his table, the seating of his officials, the attending servants in their robes, his cup bearers, and the burnt offerings he made at the temple of the LORD, she was overwhelmed.” 1 Kings 10:4-5 NIV

The wisdom of Solomon and the magnificence of his kingdom are only pictures of the infinitely greater wisdom of the Lord Jesus and the magnificence of His kingdom. If the Queen of Sheba was deeply affected by what she witnessed of Solomon’s glory, to the point of being “overwhelmed,” how much more should we be affected by the wondrous wisdom of the Lord Jesus in connection with the house He is presently building – “the church of the living God, which is the pillar and foundation of the truth” (1 Tim. 3:15), and by all the precious truth He has revealed in the New Testament which so wonderfully blesses us!

Our Living Lord
O the wonder of the knowledge of the glory of the Lord;

O the sweetness of the blessing of His living, holy Word.

O the deep and precious comfort of His pure, abounding love;

O the joy of soon expecting to behold His face above!

He has purposed all this blessing for the ransomed saints of God;

He has given life eternal to all those redeemed by blood.

He has risen again in glory, seated on the Father’s throne;

He has promised He is coming to take all believers home.

We shall see Him and be with Him in the radiance of His light;

We shall witness all the beauty of His face in glory bright.

We shall thrill with admiration of the crowns upon His head;

We shall magnify and worship our own Lord who once was dead!
