Safe Through The Blood

Christ’s Blood Saves  The only means of safety from the wrath and judgment of almighty God is the blood of Jesus Christ. When we receive Christ as our Savior and Lord, confessing our sins to God in true repentance, His precious blood cleanses us from every sin (1 Jn. 1:7). Christ Chosen And Sent It was God’s own plan that His beloved Son should be our Substitute – the victim of His judgment against our sins. It was not without design that God sent His Son into this world. “We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world” (1 Jn. 4:14 nkjv). Jesus is God’s appointed Savior for all people, and God places infinite value on the blood of Christ. As a sinner in need of forgiveness, do you value it? “The Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all” (Isa. 53:6). Jesus announced when dying on the cross, “It is finished” (Jn. 19:30). He is able to save you. Are you willing to let Him? Christ’s Sufferings And Death Turn your eyes to the cross and see Jesus bleeding there and dying for you. See His thorn-crowned brow. See His hands nailed securely to that cursed tree. See His face battered more than any other man – in the agony of death! He “suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God” (1 Pet. 3:18).

Think for a moment: Christ’s blood was shed for your salvation. “You were not redeemed with … silver or gold … but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot” (1 Pet. 1:18-19). If you want to be safe, you must put your trust in Christ and His shed blood. “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins” (Eph. 1:7).

Rely On Christ Alone
Nothing but the blood of Christ can save a soul. Your works, prayers and tears of remorse cannot save you. His blood alone has power to redeem. Sacraments cannot save you. Are you trusting in baptism, confirmation, communion or keeping the Ten Commandments to save you? Nothing except the blood of Jesus can save you.

It makes no difference how right or how biblical your practices are. They cannot save you! Trust in anything else besides the blood, and you will perish. Rely on Jesus alone, and you cannot perish.

• “It is the blood that makes atonement for the soul” (Lev. 17: 11).

• “The blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin” (1 Jn. 1:7).

Forgiveness is always assured for the sinner who confesses: “Therefore let it be known … that through this man (Christ) is preached to you the forgiveness of sins: and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things” (Acts 13:38-39).
