-HOW DOES GOD REVEAL HIMSELF TO MAN?

HOW DOES GOD REVEAL HIMSELF TO MAN?

In all ages and throughout eternity God the Father communicates to man, not directly, but consistently, by His Son, Jesus Christ through the holy Spirit (Rev. 1:1-2919:10; Matt. 11:27John 12:50Heb. 1:1-22Pet. 1:21, etc.) God’s revelation was not made in a single moment but in different historical and progressive dispensations. The prophet Isaiah said His Word was precept upon precept, line upon line, here a little and there a little (Isaiah 28:1013); from faith to faith (Rom. 12:3) grace upon grace (John 1:16) and from glory to glory (2Cor. 3:18)

At one time it was by history, prophecy, poetry, proverbs and solemn and special messages. Now in the last days with finality, God addressed us by His Son who came in the flesh, the one great messenger who came to complete the divine communication, and to give a uniform and connected revelation to mankind. The contrast here is between the numerous separate parts of the revelation given by the prophets and the oneness of that given by the Son. When Christ came all was brought to perfection in one age (Heb. 1:1-3). In the Old Testament He revealed Himself in diverse manners or in many ways. It was not all in one mode. He employed various methods in communicating His will. At one time it was by direct communication; at another by dreams and visions. His entire direct personal and progressive self revelation in the 29 Old Testament books from Genesis to Malachi was written between about 1,500 BC to about 400 BC. Writing was done at various times, by various persons, in various laws and forms and teachings, with various degrees of clearness, under various shadows, types and figures. In the New Testament the unity is clearer because all is done by one Person, the Person of God the Son Jesus Christ who has fulfilled and completed prophecy and who is the way, the truth, and the Life Himself (John 14:6), the founder, mediator, and governor of His own Kingdom (Isaiah 9:6-7). The prophets of the Old Testament spoke, “Thus says the Lord …” (Jer. 6:16Ezekiel 5:5). In the New Testament, God the Son with authority speaks, “Verily, verily I say unto you …” (John 3:31810:1). In the Old Testament what the Law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, Jesus Christ in the New Testament, accomplished by the merits of His bodily death offered to the Father through the Eternal Spirit in accordance to His Everlasting Covenant with the Father (Heb. 9:1413:20. There are three levels of the historical revelations of Jesus Christ, the Logos who is God:

  1. The Universal level. Everywhere and all the time, throughout the universe Jesus Christ, the Logos, who is God (Rev. 21:6-7) has in effect manifested Himself (Rom. 1:19-20); Ps. 19:1-6Acts 17:25-28).
  2. The human subjective level. The Lord Jesus Christ has written His law in the heart of every human being (Rom. 2:13-15John 1:498:12).
  3. The actual personal self revelation of Jesus Christ:

If anyone comes to you and claims that he is the last prophet or the final revelation of God apart from the Biblical Christ and that something is lacking and something is to be added in the 66 Canonical Books of the Bible, beware of him. He is a false prophet or a false messenger. Be wise in the Lord lest Satan and his false ministers deceive you and endanger your soul in hell. Repent, turn away from your sins, and commit your all to the Lord Jesus Christ and you will have salvation, Eternal Life, and Eternal Glory.

  1. All praise, glory, honor and thanksgiving to our Almighty Lord God Jesus Christ for this brief gospel message shared but very comprehensive in scope as it covers the entire Holy Scriptures from the Old Testament to the New Testament, from Genesis to Revelation. The Son of God, Christ Jesus, is both the Divine Revelation and the Divine Revelator/ Revealer/ Messenger of everything that is from the Tri-Personal Godkind to the world.
